Jetpackを最新版（ver.9.0.1）にアプデしてからかその前からかは定かではないが、Jetpackに接続できないエラーが出ていたのでサポートデスクに助けを求めてみたところ「こっちでは問題なさそうだけど、もっかいこのデバッグツールで確認してみてー」てなお返事がきたのでやってみた。

状況変わらず。
キャプチャ付きで状況報告してみると次のようなお返事が。

I checked the debug page you told me and I got this error message.
Thanks for sharing that. I’m seeing the same error here. This is happening due to some form of rate-limiting on your site. When we test the connection against the default XML-RPC endpoint, the connection is good. Your site is seeing these connections and then blocking access, which is causing the connection to start failing. The default endpoint is:
https://サイト名/xmlrpc.php
If you can review your installed plugins and make sure none of them are “protecting” this endpoint, that might clear things up. If you do not have any security plugins installed, you’ll need to ask your host to whitelist our IP ranges. Once that is done, the connection should start working.

要するにXML-RPCの要求は問題なく通ってるけど、なんか他のプラグインが接続の邪魔してるんじゃない？ってことだったので不要そうなプラグインをいっこずつ無効化したり削除したりしてく。

すると…原因はこれだった！
≫Password Protected
サイトにパスワード保護をかけていたのでプラグインを無効化したらJetpackの接続が成功！
サイトヘルスステータスにもエラーが出なくなった。

でも相変わらず管理画面で設定保存しようとしたらエラーが出て設定変更できないのよねぃ…
引き続きサポートデスクにご相談してみます。続きはまた今度。一旦覚書。
